Engraving machine as small as a laptop computer?
Jeff Walters November 15th, 2007
Engraving machines have come a long way since the adoption of laser technology. As the technology has grown, the engraving machines have become smaller and smaller. Twenty years ago, not many people would have imagined that a laser engraving system could fit onto a desktop. Only a select few laser engineers were brave enough to produce an air cooled laser system; one without the traditional water cooled chiller components.
Today, Laser Photonics is producing some of the most revolutionary fiber laser systems in the world. The FiberTower(TM) Series of fiber laser systems have sold all over the world, and are renowned for their reliability and efficiency amongst other things. By replacing the traditional water cooled chillers with smaller cooling fans, the systems have come smaller and lighter. Light enough that there is now a hand held laser engraving system that is fully portable. It can be carried easily by one person and is as small as a briefcase.
Where we go from here, is anyone’s guess. The next generation of Fiber Laser systems will only be limited by our imagination!
